Stories are living things, not necessarily each individual story per say but the concepts behind stories are.
Think about it, there are only so many concepts for stories out there, boy meets girl, boy gets girl happy ever after..YAWN. OR girl meets boy, internal/external forces keep them apart as they either spar with the world and enemies or with each other. Good and very basic.
Boy (or Girl) inherits kingdom, rules well, dies at old age...SNORE. Person has their birthright taken from them and/or does not Know they are suppose to.... inherit kingdom/save the world/ marry their love/be the star/whatever... in the first place and must then go one QUEST to get back what was taken from them and most likely punish the baddy.
You get the picture?
So all those basic stories have been out there floating around looking for people to live them since the first time Ogg looked out of his cave and saw Ugh and thought what a beautiful hairy face that chick has only to have snatched away by parents who did not think his cave art would be around very long.
So while all these stories have been very seriously working to lead peoples lives into not so new and interesting directions (and selling books and what not while at it) their mischievous cousins the Fairytales have been playing Will o'the whisp with a select few throughout the world. Ever wonder why pretty much every culture has a 'Cinderella' story? And why even in those cultures it tends to change as time goes by? Because it is happening, over and over all around the world and not always exactly like it is written cause Fairytales love to improvise, they consider themselves very hip little things that can change with place and time and the general mood of the people and creatures involved. And of course the original fairytales were not written for children, they were very adult stories often dealing with very adult topics including sex.
So who is to say these little guys with the big senses of humor wouldn't enjoy getting their mitts on a good BBW fable?
Lets see.
