Travis (TravisakaTank) my dear sweet friend came to visit me for a while and since we both have friends who want to see the pics of the trip I am making a Blog all about it.
THUR FEB 13
I am expecting travis to come into town at about 10:30 thrusday night and I know he is totally nervous about flying but I can not wait to see him, I plan to dye my hair that afternoon since I have been using temp colors and the roots have grown out, dress up, make up, fancy shoes, and a bunch of valentine balloons to meet him at the airport. I plan to be waiting at the security gate when he gets off the plane.
Grandma comes over and we go out to coffee and quiche and come back to the house the a message from Travis saying that there are bad storms over the mid west and he may be stranded in Phoenix all night.... Grandma stays and talks while I hang up clothes and try to figure out this shoe shelf thing for my closet.
Later that evening I call the ariline and they say his plane is running 2 hours late and his other flight is set to leave on time and there is no other flight for Boise. I figure he is stuck in Phoenix when he gets there so I put off dyeing my hair and dont get dressed up, I wait to dye my hair figuring he will call when he gets to Phoenix and I dont want to talk on the phone with dye on.
Finally I think he must have gotten a hotel room and fallen asleep but I should have known better because he is not like that so I start dying my roots and of course this is when I get a call "T'Rina I am in BOISE I caught my Plane it was running late cause of the storm"
So I had to make him wait while I finished the dye job and got dressed (no make up ... hair under hat) grabbed my bundle of balloons and headed out the door, luckly I live about 10 mins from the airport but it was still 30mins at least.
So here is travis hoping to see this lovely vision of the webpage and this crazy woman in a Mod 60s dress and a leopard coat and a hat with all her WET hair tucked up in it and white tennis shoes with no socks holding about a dozen valentine balloons comes up the escalator instead....LOL but I will say he kept telling me I was beautiful!
I made a couple steaks and we relazed and vistied and got to know each other even better by laughing about it
Valentines Day
Travis was so sweet, he brought me a gold and diamond heart neckless and earing set that is so sweet and pretty and I really love it!
Valentines day we sort of lounged around and relaxed a bit then went shopping and took some goodies to my grandma, we had planned to go to dinner later that evening but we were both hungery earlier and realized that anywhere we went would be packed and we were both very tired so i put on this amazing top him mother made for me and I took him to this wonderful Chinese Buffet that is HUGE and we relaxed and talked and enjoyed ourselves and then went home and had a great time.
1AM Day After Valentines DAY WAL-MART
My Momma did not raise no fool when it comes to getting the best discount goodies after the holidays... So of course since Travis and I are both Night owls we headed to Wal-Mart at 1am to get the goodies and take some picswell we bouth YUMMY goodies to go with the Box of truffles my Fan/Friend HERB sent to me on Valentines day, we got a 12 pack of Rocher for $2, big boxes of Turtles for $2 each and a wonderful box of peanut cream bon bons for $2 as we as other stuff and did we stock up, I am so full on chooclate I don't know what to do.
Travis Also gave me a BIG sweatshit that is way over sized on him but fits me perfect... he calls it my Lil' Snuggly since I have a floor length caftan made of sweatshirt material I call my big snuggly. Man is that a comfy shirt.
Anyway we were taking a few pics of each others when we were told to stop or leave the building...DAMN, you would think we were casing the joint...LOL
No I did not buy the toys, my bed is already a bit over full of toys.
LATER IN THE WEEK
Travis has been so sweet about helping fix up my house, and it did need a lot, I really want to fix this place up and put up shelves and stuff and he is helping me with spring cleaning and we are going to shampoo the carpets and I defrosted the freezer and he helped clean the fridge and washed the stove and we put up curtains in place of the old ones and some sheers for my bedroom door. He is such a hard worker it is amazing, but I have to say you can not take him into a dollar store he is worse then me...LOL and I am BAD.
He keeps teasing me for buying stuff to put on shelves I don't have put up yet and he thinks my idea for a kitschy kitchen is just bizzare, he loves the idea of the marroon harem bedroom ((the light color in there is great)) and he likes the gothy touches in the front room but he think I should do deep and dark in the kitchen too....LOL he just does not get the ieda of weird and silly and funky as a design statement. I think it was when I told him I intend to put game boards at weird angles on the wall and to put these really odd 50s Pulp magazine postcards I got in wooden frames and paint the frames with high gloss enamel (finger nail polish) and hang them on the wall in there that he really lost all concept of how it would work as a design feature with everything else in my house.
I have been showing him around town and Travis is blown away by the Mountains, they raise half a mile high out of the valley floor amd if it was summer and I trusted my car more I would take him to deer summit which is a mile high (Boise is almost exactly half a mile high) it only takes 18 miles of winding roads to get there and you can see it from town so it is actually a lot closer physically then that. He has been a picture taking mad man...LOL But he is having a great time.
SAT FEB 22
We went to The Stone House a bar in this old river rock stone building where the special was their "mad Tea party" 24 once Long Island Ice Teas for $3 we each had one and munched on some goodies from a party there and took some pics and goofed off and had fun.
Then even though it was like 1am we went over to this huge stone fountain and took pics just to see how they would look.... hoping we would not get chased off like we were at Wal-Mart.
My Stupid car has started acting up again, the dumb lights did not give me any trouble for nearly 4 weeks before Travis got here and the day before he arrived they stopped turning on with the switch all together so now the only way to get them to work is to wire them together under the hood, my dad was going to help me get them fixed but I dont want to bother him right now since my step mom is going into an Epilepsy clinic in Seattle since no one can figure out exactly what is going on with her health and we are all worried about her and as long as I can gerry-rig it I guess it is ok.
Travis has been a big sweetie pie about doing the lights for me... we joke about him hot wiring my car.
It is so funny... Travis grumped and groaned about how much hair my two LONG hair kitties got all over his clothes BUT he kept teasing he was going to take one of them home with him and between the two of us we took nearly 90 pics of them...LOL He may want me and everyone to think he is a big grump about kitties but he loves the DUMMIES as he calls them (cause I called them that once and it is misspelled)
I have always heard of this great Hot Springs Swimming pool about 40 miles from Boise and I had never been there, I had a 2 for 1 coupon from my Entertainment book so we decided to drive out there and have a nice long swim on a thrusday when the owner told me it was usually slow (I called)
BOISE has a wonderful train depot that has a really nice park in front of it and a old fashion caboose of display
a couple days before Travis had to go home we went to the Depot to take pics and then out to lunch with my grandma who thinks Travis is a really sweet guy... Little does she know....LOL (I am kidding)
I took Travis and my Grandma to this HUGE chinese buffet and we had a great time playing with the Buddha there...
Travis and I drove my grandmother home and then we went to the sonic drive in to get me a Double cherry lime-aid and he had a banana fudge sundae. Even though I had eaten a few hours before I had just a tiny bit of the munchies and I got one of my favorite Sonic Drive in treats.... TEXAS TOAST, just by itself... Everytime I order it it surprises the order taker and they always have to figure out where on the cash registar you put it.
I LOVE marishino cherries and that is one of the reasons I like Cherry lime-aid, they have real cherries in it. So of course beign the sweet gentleman Travis is he gave me his cherry
The Visit was great, we had a wonderful time and took lots of pictures, I wish the weather had been better but for Febuary it was amazingly good.
Travis si a blast to be around.
